Overview
Join our dynamic Data Center Mission Critical Group as a Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager! In this pivotal role, you will lead and inspire our engineering team focused on designing both greenfield and brownfield Data Center projects. We value innovation and growth, and this position is flexible, allowing for remote work from anywhere in the U.S. or from any ENERCON office.
Products/Deliverables
- Oversee the Engineering Unit to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality of deliverables are met.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to define scopes of work.
- Direct engineering assignments to ensure balanced activity, maintain quality standards, and execute Continuous Improvement Plans.
- Ensure project budgets and timelines are respected and approve essential engineering documents.
Leadership and Staff Development
- Focus on hiring, developing, and retaining top talent.
- Encourage professional growth through training opportunities and support licensing and certification pathways.
- Provide constructive feedback and performance coaching while fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Business Development
- Take an active role in marketing and business planning.
- Lead proposal preparation with input from supervisors and finalize proposals with Project Managers.
- Cultivate professional relationships with clients, assisting with market assessments and contract negotiations.
Organizational Support
- Manage the assignment of engineering resources and staffing projections based on upcoming projects.
- Oversee personnel timesheets and expense reports; conduct annual performance appraisals ensuring thorough documentation.
Contribution to Business Goals
- Meet personal and team time goals, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years in mechanical engineering and 5 years specifically in data centers.
- Expertise in Data Center Mechanical Systems Design, with knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, and CFD modeling.
- PE License is required.
- Strong coordination, team-building skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Proven ability to motivate teams towards achieving goals with a positive and effective leadership style.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, able to engage effectively with staff, clients, and management across diverse scenarios.
- Strong technical writing skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time to client sites, with at least one trip per month for project and marketing meetings.
Pay Range
USD $175,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr.
