SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000
Essential Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: 10+ years of industry-related experience in design for commercial, government, academic, R&D, multi-family, or industrial sectors.
- Management: Minimum 5 years of direct Project Management experience.
- Software: Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Technical Depth: Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, municipal codes, and regulations.
- Business Principles: Thorough understanding of financial principles in a consulting business (Work-in-Process, A/R, project billing).
Desirable Requirements
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license (Strongly Preferred).
- Certifications: LEED accreditation and EIT (Strongly Preferred).
- Modeling Software: Knowledge of TraneTrace and/or eQuest.
- Market Development: Proven track record in marketing firm capabilities and establishing new client relationships.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Direct people and processes to ensure successful and timely completion of mechanical design projects within budget.
- Project Oversight: Oversee monitoring and management of billings, work-in-process (WIP), and accounts receivable collection.
- Technical Authority: Provide technical assistance for design problem resolution, including detailed review of computations and field investigations.
- Design Direction: Direct the preparation of designs, specifications, plans, and reports for complex mechanical systems.
- Mentorship: Provide counsel, guidance, and knowledge transfer to junior project managers, design engineers, and project engineers.
