About the Role
Mventech is seeking a Ventilation Engineer to support the technical delivery of mine ventilation projects for some of the world’s leading mining companies. Based in Centurion / Cape Town, this role will place you at the forefront of mine ventilation innovation, where you’ll combine your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and forward-thinking approach to deliver exceptional results. You will be responsible for conducting ventilation modelling, analysis, and optimisation while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance is adhered to.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise mine ventilation models using VentSim or Vuma.
- Conduct ventilation studies, system audits, and airflow analysis to ensure optimal mine safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with mine operators, engineers, and project teams to design and implement effective ventilation solutions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations for ventilation systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Assist in the planning and execution of ventilation projects from concept to implementation.
- Support senior engineers in project execution and client engagement.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in mine ventilation engineering.
- Strong proficiency in VentSim or Vuma for mine ventilation modelling and analysis.
- Solid understanding of underground mine ventilation principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
- Experienced in mine technical studies (Concept to DFS).
- Experience in ventilation planning and system optimisation.
- Understanding of heat management and gas control strategies.
- Familiarity with Australian mine ventilation regulations and standards.
- Exposure to project management tools and techniques.
