Position Details

• Position Title: Senior Mobile Developer
• Salary: 110,000.00 - 130,000.00
• Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Canadian work experience is not required. Job Summary

What We Do: Our Compass Digital Core Product Engineering team builds food ordering apps, operator management and kitchen display systems, empowering hospitality guests, front and back of house operations. Our back‑end services are shared along the guest’s hospitality journey.

The Flutter Developer (Checkout) will join a small, entrepreneurial team in building the next generation checkout experience for Compass Digital. Currently in pilot stage, this system is poised for rapid growth. In the coming months, we’ll be scaling the system, adding new features, and expanding its reach to more markets and use cases, with a long‑term vision to reinvent what the checkout experience can be. The team operates like a startup with fast‑paced development and the opportunity to shape a product with massive potential impact.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the implementation of standards and cutting‑edge practices to ensure top‑notch code quality and comprehensive test coverage.
• Prioritize performance, usability, and accessibility to craft an exceptional user experience.
• Balance user satisfaction with developer needs, ensuring both are given equal importance.
• Flexibility to work across various layers of the tech stack, broadening your skill set or specializing as you see fit.
• Make scalability and reliability central to every decision you make.

• Cultivate leadership skills within your team as you manage Flutter application development for both Android and iOS platforms.
• Guide the software development lifecycle from conception and design to rigorous testing.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to innovate and deliver new features.
• Efficiently harness third‑party data sources and APIs to enhance functionality.
• Rigorously test your code through unit tests to ensure robustness, covering edge cases, usability, and overall reliability.
• Tackle issues head‑on, debug, and enhance application performance.
• Explore and incorporate new technologies to streamline development processes.
• Push the boundaries of mobile devices to create exceptional user experiences.

Requirements

• At least 3‑5 years of relevant industry experience in Flutter/Dart.
• Understanding of networking and REST APIs.
• Experience writing unit tests.
• Grasp of macro‑services, microservices, and service monoliths.
• Unique perspective, enriched by a blend of backgrounds, experiences, and skills.
