Senior Network Engineer - Infrastructure

Your role in the team

• Planning, implementation, and operation of infrastructure and network systems
• Monitoring, error analysis, and maintenance of the existing infrastructure
• Creation and maintenance of system documentation, risk analyses, and technical reports
• Control and monitoring of central and decentralized infrastructure and network components
• Support and professional advice to team members on technical and process-related issues
• Ensuring proper infrastructure monitoring and further development of the monitoring strategy
• Development and integration of small automation and testing tools through scripting to optimize operations.
• Evaluation, testing, and preparation for the deployment of new network technologies
• Support in the development, operation, and further advancement of a nationwide network infrastructure in Austria.
• Configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network components (switches, routers, firewalls, WAN connections, etc.)

• The minimum salary for this position according to T-KV under §15/III(1)-ST1 is EUR 4,476.00 gross/month based on full-time (38.5 hours/week). A higher salary is, of course, possible depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge in operating network infrastructures and relevant protocols (e.g., SSH, TFTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, HSRP, BGP, OSPF)
• Excellent knowledge in the field of IT security
• Very good knowledge of Cisco technologies (e.g., Cisco IOS, ACI, ISE)
• Knowledge of at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, or Perl)
• Strong analytical skills and a structured way of working
• Independence, sense of responsibility, and high commitment
• Teamwork skills and professional communication skills
• Willingness to create and maintain technical documentation
• Willingness to continuous professional development

Experience

• Experience in operating LAN and SAN infrastructures in data center environments
• Experience in the administration and operation of Linux-based systems
