Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Security Engineer to join their dedicated security operations team in Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA. This role is essential for protecting the company's network infrastructure and sensitive data from cyber threats. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and endpoint security. You will be responsible for identifying security vulnerabilities, developing remediation strategies, and responding to security incidents. Proactive threat hunting, security monitoring, and continuous improvement of security policies and procedures are key aspects of this position. This role demands a deep understanding of network protocols, common attack vectors, and best practices in cybersecurity. You will work closely with IT and development teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the network architecture and operations. A strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure are crucial. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust network security infrastructure.
• Monitor network traffic for security threats and anomalies.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in network security engineering.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and network architectures.
• Hands-on experience with various security technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Splunk).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
