About the role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Network Security Engineer to join their dynamic and fully remote team. This role is essential for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security infrastructure to protect the organization's assets from evolving cyber threats. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in network security principles, technologies, and threat mitigation strategies, coupled with a proactive approach to security.

Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and web application firewalls (WAFs). Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard network infrastructure and sensitive data. Monitor network traffic and security logs for suspicious activity, conducting in-depth analysis and incident response. Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses. Configure and maintain security devices, ensuring optimal performance and threat detection capabilities. Collaborate with IT operations and development teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the network and application lifecycle. Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends. Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees. Manage security incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery, and conduct post-incident analysis. Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to enhance the organization's security posture. Maintain accurate documentation of network security architecture, configurations, and procedures. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security team members. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations. Participate in on-call rotations to respond to security incidents outside of business hours. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Networking, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in network security engineering. Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing a wide range of network security technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Check Point). In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, VPN technologies, and network segmentation. Strong experience with IDS/IPS, WAF, endpoint security solutions, and SIEM systems. Proficiency in security vulnerability assessment and penetration testing methodologies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and incident response skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts clearly. Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CCNP Security, or equivalent are highly desirable. Experience with cloud security principles and technologies is a plus. Scripting or automation skills for security tasks are advantageous.
