Senior Network Security Engineer - Remote

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Security Engineer to join their globally distributed team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security solutions to protect our client's digital assets. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in network protocols, security best practices, and a proactive approach to threat detection and mitigation.

Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and manage advanced network security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS), VPNs, and secure access controls. Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures. Monitor network traffic for security breaches and anomalous activity, conducting thorough investigations and providing timely incident response. Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses. Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into the entire system lifecycle. Implement and manage security solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies. Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees. Automate security processes and tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell). Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security best practices. Maintain comprehensive documentation of network security architecture and configurations. Participate in on-call rotation for security incident response. Contribute to the development and execution of the organization's cybersecurity strategy. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNA Security, CCNP Security) are highly preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in network security engineering. Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level security solutions. In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, firewall management, VPN technologies, and IDS/IPS. Experience with cloud security principles and practices. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for automation. Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Experience with SIEM tools and threat intelligence platforms. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
