About the role
Our client, a forward-thinking educational institution committed to expanding access to quality learning, is seeking a talented Senior Online Learning Developer for a fully remote position. This role is integral to designing, developing, and implementing engaging and effective online courses and learning experiences. You will work with subject matter experts to transform curriculum into interactive digital content that meets the highest pedagogical standards.
Responsibilities: Design and develop engaging online course content, including interactive modules, multimedia elements, and assessments. Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate educational objectives into effective online learning experiences. Utilize various authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to create and manage course content. Ensure online courses meet accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and are optimized for diverse learning needs. Develop and implement strategies for learner engagement and retention in online environments. Provide guidance and training to faculty and staff on best practices for online teaching and course development. Evaluate the effectiveness of online courses through learner feedback and data analysis, making necessary revisions. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in online learning, instructional design, and educational technology. Manage multiple course development projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and quality benchmarks. Contribute to the overall strategy and development of the institution's online learning program. Create and maintain documentation for online course templates, standards, and development processes. Troubleshoot technical issues related to online course delivery and platform usage. Qualifications: Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design and online course development. Demonstrated expertise in using e-learning authoring tools and LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard). Strong understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and pedagogical principles. Proficiency in multimedia development tools (e.g., video editing, graphic design). Excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Experience in creating accessible learning content (WCAG compliant). Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting. Portfolio showcasing a range of successful online course development projects is required.
