Senior OpenShift Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior OpenShift Engineer with deep expertise in enterprise Kubernetes/OpenShift platform engineering. This role will focus on designing, scaling, securing, and optimizing OpenShift environments to support mission-critical applications across a multi-cluster, highly available infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, upgrade, and maintain highly available OpenShift clusters (multi-cluster, multi-AZ, on-premises)
• Build and standardize containerization and deployment patterns for application onboarding
• Develop and maintain secure, certified container base images
• Collaborate with application and architecture teams on cloud-native design decisions
• Define and implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational runbooks
• Manage enterprise container registries, image lifecycle, and scanning workflows
• Automate cluster lifecycle operations (installation, patching, upgrades, scaling)
• Implement platform security controls (RBAC, IAM, SCCs, TLS/certificates)
• Integrate DevSecOps tooling and governance into CI/CD pipelines
• Provide L3 production support for platform, networking, and deployment issues
• Mentor teams on OpenShift, Kubernetes, and DevOps best practices

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift (4.x)
• 10+ years of Linux/Unix (RHEL) administration and tuning
• Expertise in:
  • OpenShift Operators, MachineConfigs, OVN Kubernetes CNI
  • Kubernetes APIs, CRDs, networking, storage classes
  • Multi-cluster management and governance (ACM)
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Service Mesh, Routes/Ingress, Network Policies
  • Container technologies: Docker, Podman, CRI-O
• CI/CD & DevOps Tools:
  • ArgoCD, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Ansible, Artifactory
• Infrastructure as Code:
  • Terraform, Ansible, GitOps workflows
• Security:
  • RBAC, IAM/OAuth, image scanning/signing, secrets management
• Scripting:
  • Shell, Python, PowerShell
