Overview

Join our growing Power Delivery team as a Senior or Principal Engineer for Transmission Planning. This position uniquely combines your power systems expertise with leadership opportunities, allowing you to mentor fellow engineers and promote industry standards while delivering impactful solutions.

This role can be based at our offices in Kennesaw, GA; Tampa, FL; Lake Mary, FL; Palm Beach Gardens, FL; or any ENERCON office, or remotely within the U.S. for candidates outside of these areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a talented team through intricate power system studies, collaborate with key stakeholders, and contribute to the reliability and evolution of the nation’s transmission network.
  • Foster the technical development of engineers engaged in interconnection studies, supervising small teams as needed to prepare project deliverables and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Focus on identifying and providing innovative solutions that enhance the reliability and economic performance of clients' transmission systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive power system modeling, including load flow, short circuit analysis, transient stability, and contingency studies, in addition to economic modeling such as production cost simulations.
  • Ensure adherence to NERC Reliability Standards and client-specific Planning Criteria.
  • Actively participate in ISO/RTO forums and NERC Regional Entities, advocating for company interests while demonstrating a solid understanding of FERC regulations and the evolution of transmission policies.
  • Identify and resolve problems, and perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least 6 years of experience in Transmission Planning.
  • Proficiency with software tools such as GE PSLF, TARA, Gridview, PowerWorld, PSSE, or PROMOD.
  • Experience with PSCAD is also required.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO transmission systems, processes, and policies.
  • Familiarity with generator interconnection processes and implementation is a plus.
  • Strong client relationship management skills and a proven track record in the Transmission Planning industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • EIT certification with the potential to achieve PE licensure through examination.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing leadership to team members.

Pay Range

USD $110,000.00 - USD $179,000.00 / Year
