The Financial Operations team's work is part of a fast-growing area of e-commerce that didn't exist two decades ago. It's an innovative, constantly evolving space that demands flexibility and a focus on delivering what works best for travelers while meeting business needs. As a Senior Payment Operations Analyst, you will drive the operation and execution of transactional global payments to and from Expedia Group and on its financial platforms. This role works across organizations and Lines of Business (LoB) to resolve financial transaction or system issues and communicate internally and externally at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with vendors to implement new payment methods and troubleshoot existing ones.
- Provide clear communication to partners regarding launches and issue resolution.
- Reconcile transactions on a monthly basis.
- Troubleshoot any internal and external payment related issues stemming from our platform.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of financial systems, databases, and reporting tools; provide oversight as needed.
- Audit data outputs and ensure accuracy using various financial systems.
- Lead complex information-sharing processes across the organization, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and confidentiality guidelines.
- Create and maintain SOPs to ensure accurate and up to date procedures related to daily operational tasks.
- Initiate and support projects to address business gaps and improve performance.
- Inspire peers and foster an environment that rewards self-starters.
- Balance short-term deliverables with long-term goals; manage multiple overlapping timelines and competing priorities.
- Assess market conditions to determine priorities and investment levels.
- Create measures and tools to maximize resource utilization and operational efficiency.
- Design and implement departmental improvements impacting quality of products, services, and processes.
- Serve as an expert in continuous improvement; track and monitor quality metrics.
- Execute tasks with diligence and precision, minimizing errors.
- Identify interdependencies across teams and recommend process improvements.
- Lead implementation teams for new ideas and approaches; analyze impact of improvements.
- Diagnose root causes and lead short-term resolution efforts.
- Possess advanced data skills, including complex analysis, visualization, and interpretation.
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence to implement identified opportunities into operational processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- 6+ years of professional experience.
- Presentation skills with a variety of audiences including senior leadership.
- Vendor relationship management experience.
- Demonstrated time management skills, including experience with prioritization of tasks and maintaining deliverable timelines.
- High attention to detail in the context of quality assurance and peer review.
- Strong customer service, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- 8+ years of professional experience.
- Technical Skills (ERP systems, Excel).
- Project Management (project plans, risk management, relationship management).
- Reconciliation experience - this role will reconcile transactions on a monthly basis for SOX control.
- Initiative (proactiveness, problem solving, "go get what's next").
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- eCommerce and payments industry knowledge and domain expertise.
- Curiosity about the payments space, a willingness to dig deeper and ask questions.
- Experience using AI or machine-learning-driven tools (e.g., anomaly detection, forecasting, decision-support dashboards) in a payments, financial operations, or e-commerce environment.
- Experience with utilizing Agentic AI to improve, operationalize or automate repetitive processes.
Compensation
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $82,500.00 to $115,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $132,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
The total cash range for this position in Springfield is $66,000.00 to $92,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $105,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
