Role Overview

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a key technical and strategic role in shaping the next generation of our RIB 4.0 platform. Building on our existing technology foundations, you will design and evolve a scalable, secure, and reliable container platform based on Docker and Kubernetes.

Working closely with Cloud Architects, Product Management, Security, and Application Engineering teams, you will drive architectural decisions, establish platform best practices, mentor junior engineers, and ensure consistency and reliability across all environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure platform components and DevOps.
  • Establish pipelines across multiple environments using Azure DevOps, and GitOps methodologies.
  • Architect and optimize Kubernetes (AKS) environments and infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Drive infrastructure-as-code adoption and standardization (Terraform); establish reusable modules and patterns for consistency and governance.
  • Champion platform security, including secrets management, RBAC policies, and compliance automation.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing hands‑on coaching, code reviews, and best practice sharing to elevate team capability.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver robust CI/CD processes, enforce quality gates, and reduce time‑to‑production.
  • Establish and refine observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing) to ensure platform reliability and incident response readiness.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, roadmap definition, and continuous improvement of platform and DevSecOps maturity.
  • Produce and maintain high‑quality documentation, architectural runbooks, and knowledge‑sharing resources.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles, with increasing responsibility, seniority and leadership.
  • Proven expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS with a focus on Networking and Security.
  • Strong expertise with Kubernetes, Docker containerization, and DevOps/GitOps deployment strategies.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Biceps, ARM templates, …
  • Strong understanding of modern CI/CD practices, environment promotion strategies, and testing automation.
  • Experience with platform monitoring, distributed tracing, and alerting (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor or equivalent).
