The chapter Technology & Engineering - Platform Engineering represents all experts who deliver DevOps capabilities to all our product teams. These experts are organized together to enhance those functional skillsets, improve E.ON’s DevOps tech stack and deliver a high level of cloud automation.

E.ON delivers an internal Security solution using a Micro-Segmentation focused architecture. The solution provides a security solution for Intra Application traffic. The current Product team delivers a solution based on an existing SaaS provided solution. E.ON’s security solution going forward is to deliver this solution via a DevOps approach.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing Zero Trust based solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and high-level languages like Python and Go
• Implement best practices for cloud security, data protection, and compliance, including IAM roles and policies, encryption and auditing
• Secure design and architecture in a cloud native ecosystem including Kubernetes
• Continuously improving the product by monitoring performance, optimizing cost and incorporating feedback from stakeholders
• Permanently analyze and test new and innovative technologies that improve the team's capabilities to fulfill its mission
• Mentorship to support the development of a range of skills within the product team members including Junior Developers and Security focused Operations staff

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
• Profound understanding of software development lifecycle and design in a DevOps environment, including architecture, testing and releasing
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) preferably Azure
• Strong collaborative abilities and experience in mentoring as well as team development
• Experience working in an agile, distributed, multi-national team
