Senior Platform Engineer

About Our Client

Our client is building out their Data & AI platform and is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help improve how infrastructure is provisioned, automated, and scaled across the organization. This role sits within the Data & AI team and will focus on building repeatable, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure to enable engineers to move faster without reinventing the wheel. The environment is still maturing, making this a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys improving systems, establishing guardrails, and increasing engineering velocity.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and build cloud-native infrastructure on AWS
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to standardize provisioning
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
• Establish repeatable patterns and guardrails for infrastructure and deployments
• Enable Data & AI teams by creating self-service platform capabilities
• Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance
• Optimize cloud usage and cost efficiency
• Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline onboarding and development workflows

Must-Have Requirements

• 58+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS
• Deep experience with Terraform (IaC) building and maintaining infrastructure
• Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD
• Experience building automation, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure provisioning
• Background in software engineering or scripting (Python, Bash, etc.)
• Experience working in cloud-native environments

Nice-to-Have

• Experience supporting data or AI/ML platforms
• Exposure to Snowflake or modern data stacks
• Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service tooling
• Understanding of security and governance in cloud environments

Interview Process

• Round 1: VP, Data & AI (30 minutes)
• Round 2: Technical interview with leadership team (45 minutes)
