What to Expect:

• Development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a standardized software library for Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1500, WinCC, Safety)
• Conception, programming, and optimization of modular software components for complex conveyor and carton handling systems, as well as adjacent integration systems such as carton erectors or palletizing systems
• Creation and further development of programming standards, interface descriptions, and binding programming guidelines
• Close collaboration with the mechanical and electrical engineering departments for optimal coordination and integration of software solutions
• Support during virtual commissioning through simulations and emulations of conveyor and material flow systems
• Technical support for projects during the commissioning and acceptance phase, with a focus on software quality, standardization, and sustainable system performance
• Technical point of contact within the Controls team for topics related to software architecture, error diagnosis, and performance optimization
• Evaluation of new technologies and their integration into existing standard libraries, such as OPC/UA, MQTT, or IoT applications
• Support in onboarding, as well as technical coaching and knowledge transfer to junior PLC programmers

What You Bring:

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in PLC software development, particularly in the field of conveyor technology and intralogistics
• Demonstrable experience with high-performance conveyor systems, such as high-speed divert systems or shuttle systems
• Profound knowledge in standardization, modularization, as well as the development and maintenance of software libraries
• Very good knowledge of fieldbus and communication systems such as PROFINET, AS-Interface, and Industrial Ethernet
• Confident handling of functional safety requirements and their implementation in software development
• Structured, meticulous, and documentation-oriented way of working with a strong focus on quality and reusability
• Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
