About the Role
You will drive SI/PI initiatives for next-generation hardware. This high-impact role focuses on the modeling, analysis, & simulation of cutting-edge DDR memory interfaces, pushing performance boundaries beyond 12800 MT/s. You will work at the forefront of the industry to ensure that high-speed data remains both rapid & secure.
Responsibilities
- Framework Development: Establish advanced SI/PI methodologies & collaborate with design teams to conduct in-depth studies & optimize package designs for an evolving memory product portfolio.
- Architectural Standards: Partner with design & validation specialists to define critical system requirements, including PCB routing strategies, IC-package-board decoupling, & jitter sensitivity thresholds.
- Actionable Insights: Generate design guidelines derived from simulation data & silicon correlation to ensure industry-leading signal performance & robust margin scores.
- Predictive Modeling: Execute complex channel simulations to forecast system-level behavior & mitigate potential integrity risks.
- Technical Consultancy: Interface directly with clients to co-develop optimized SI/PI solutions & provide on-site expertise during laboratory bring-up & hardware debugging.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or similar domain
- 10+ years’ experience with exposure to DDR4/5
- Solid background in SI/PI & package design
- Proven success in correlating theoretical simulation models with physical laboratory measurements using high-end tools such as VNAs, TDRs, & real-time oscilloscopes
- Comprehensive understanding of server-grade hardware architecture, specifically the data pathways between CPUs & DRAM modules
- Proficiency in simulation software such as ADS, Spice, HFSS, & Q3D/PowerSI
- Exposure to advanced platforms like Virtuoso, RedHawk, Totem, or XcitePI is highly desirable
- Good knowledge of high-speed link circuitry & experience characterizing passive components & link margins
- Exceptional communication & presentation skills, with a self-motivated approach to project management & a strong commitment to team collaboration
