Senior Principal Product Manager, Growth Strategy
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Principal Product Manager to lead our Growth initiatives and enhance user value realization across our product verticals. In this influential position, you will oversee the complete user journey from trial acquisition to paid conversion and optimization of our Operations Cloud platform. You will play a key role in establishing a culture of experimentation company-wide, driving the strategy and execution of our conversion optimization efforts.
As a leader, you will work collaboratively with product, engineering, design, pricing, and go-to-market teams to redefine how PagerDuty's value is realized and adopted. Your analytical mindset, combined with the ability to synthesize user behavior data alongside experimentation outcomes, will be critical in refining conversion funnels, onboarding processes, and feature adoption workflows. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of experimentation, possess strong business acumen in hybrid sales-led/product-led environments, and thrive in a dynamic setting while managing multiple projects and mentoring other PMs in growth methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Growth Strategy & Experimentation • Lead the vision, strategy, and implementation of AI-driven growth products and services. • Direct initiatives for trial-to-paid conversion and customer optimization on our Operations Cloud platform. • Build and nurture experimentation culture and infrastructure across product teams. • Oversee product optimization cycles, establishing clear success criteria and checkpoints for improvements. • Utilize data-driven decisions to enhance user onboarding, activation, and expansion metrics.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Enablement • Manage a cross-functional team of 8 engineers and dedicated UX designer focusing on growth. • Coach current PMs to adopt a growth mindset and experimentation practices. • Collaborate with the pricing team on strategies that promote user adoption through model transitions. • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to develop product-led go-to-market strategies.
User Experience & Conversion Optimization • Unify fragmented trial experiences into seamless user journeys that foster activation. • Create in-product growth mechanisms (e.g., upgrade prompts, usage dashboards, feature discovery pathways). • Improve product navigation and information architecture to support self-service adoption. • Implement AI capabilities for enhanced personalization and user guidance.
Analytics & Performance • Develop growth analytics capabilities to analyze user behavior and identify conversion drivers. • Design and implement A/B and multivariate testing programs to refine key growth metrics. • Integrate qualitative customer insights with quantitative data to prioritize impactful changes. • Encourage rapid feedback cycles with an emphasis on continuous testing and learning.
Basic Qualifications: • Comprehensive understanding of developers and reliability engineers as end users and their interactions within organizations. • Insight into the relationship between end users and decision-makers regarding growth and retention. • A clear vision of how modern organizations engage with incident management products. • 7+ years of product management experience with a focus on growth products in PLG SaaS organizations. • Proven success in optimizing conversion funnels and driving measurable growth in enterprise SaaS. • Experience with A/B testing tools, growth analytics, and experimentation frameworks. • Strong analytical and problem-solving expertise to convert data insights into user experience enhancements. • Experience in matrix management with engineering and design teams. • Proven ability to mentor PMs in growth strategies and experimentation methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience fostering growth capabilities in organizations balancing sales-led and product-led strategies. • Knowledge of consumption or usage-based pricing model transitions. • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in growth optimization and user personalization. • Understanding of developer tools, infrastructure, or enterprise operations platforms. • History of nurturing experimentation cultures within product teams. • Strong business sense and awareness of enterprise customer adoption patterns and expansion strategies.

The base salary for this position ranges from 180,000 to 304,000 USD. Individuals in this role may also qualify for bonuses, commissions, equity, and/or benefits.
Salary ranges are determined based on the role, level, and office location. Within this range, we evaluate pay based on various factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies, and experience.
