Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their fully remote manufacturing and production team. This role is pivotal in optimizing production processes, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial engineering, lean manufacturing principles, and process improvement methodologies. You will be instrumental in analyzing existing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and designing innovative solutions to streamline operations. This position demands a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving, capable of driving significant improvements in a distributed team environment.
Key Responsibilities include: Analyzing complex manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality. Designing, developing, and implementing new production processes and methodologies using advanced engineering principles. Leading cross-functional teams in process optimization projects, from conception through to implementation and evaluation. Utilizing data analysis tools and statistical methods to monitor process performance and identify trends. Developing and maintaining detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and flowcharts. Conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed process changes and new technologies. Ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies. Collaborating with R&D, operations, and quality assurance teams to integrate new products and technologies into existing manufacturing lines. Providing technical expertise and guidance to production staff and management on process-related matters. Implementing and overseeing quality control measures to ensure product consistency and customer satisfaction. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in manufacturing technology and automation to drive innovation. Mentoring junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment. Proven experience in leading successful process improvement initiatives and managing complex projects. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in process simulation software, CAD tools, and data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities, particularly in a remote setting. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with automation and robotics is highly desirable. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote work environment. This is a remote-first role, open to candidates across South Africa. You must have a stable internet connection and a suitable home office setup. While remote, this role's operational focus is tied to the industrial hub of Rustenburg, North West, ZA .
