Our client, a leading multinational corporation in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is actively seeking an exceptional Senior Product Development Manager for their innovative product pipeline. This is a fully remote position, allowing top talent to contribute from anywhere, with a focus on driving new product innovation and commercialization within the Nigerian market. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of consumer needs, market trends, and the product development lifecycle.
Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end product development process, from ideation and concept validation through to commercial launch. Conduct extensive consumer research, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify new product opportunities. Define product specifications, formulations, and packaging requirements. Collaborate closely with R&D, marketing, sales, supply chain, and regulatory affairs teams to ensure seamless product development and launch. Develop business cases, project plans, and financial models for new product initiatives. Manage external suppliers and co-manufacturing partners effectively. Oversee pilot runs and scale-up production processes. Ensure all products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, ingredient trends, and sustainable practices in the FMCG industry. Present product development strategies and progress updates to senior leadership. Qualifications: Master's degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in product development and innovation within the FMCG sector. Proven track record of successfully launching new products that have achieved significant market success. Strong understanding of product formulation, manufacturing processes, and packaging technologies relevant to FMCG. Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and external partners. Ability to work effectively and autonomously in a fully remote environment. In-depth knowledge of the Nigerian consumer market and regulatory landscape is essential. This role is critical to driving future growth and requires a visionary leader passionate about creating market-leading FMCG products.
