About the role
Purpose
As Senior Manager, Product Marketing – Performance Leggings (Center of Excellence / COE), you are the global authority for performance leggings. You define the product vision, franchise architecture, and performance standards for leggings across the business, ensuring consistency, clarity, and excellence at scale.
You lead the translation of consumer, athlete, and performance insights into globally scalable product strategies—owning fit, fabric, function, and franchise direction end‑to‑end. Through cross‑functional leadership, you enable markets and Business Units (BUs) to execute best‑in‑class performance leggings that drive revenue growth, consumer trust, and brand leadership.
Key Responsibilities
COE Ownership & Category Authority
- Act as the Center of Excellence lead for Performance Leggings, setting global standards for fit, fabric, construction, support, and performance positioning.
- Define and govern the leggings product architecture, ensuring clarity across franchises, use cases, and consumer needs.
- Establish best practices, guidelines, and principles that enable consistent execution across global teams and markets.
Franchise & Portfolio Leadership
- Own the long‑term franchise strategy for performance leggings, balancing continuity (repeatable icons) with innovation (new materials, silhouettes, and constructions).
- Lead seasonal portfolio strategy to ensure clear role clarity consumer relevant features and benefits.
- Drive disciplined assortment planning (short and long life cycle), article efficiency, and margin‑aware growth without compromising performance integrity.
Consumer, Athlete & Performance Insight Translation
- Translate consumer and athlete insights into actionable briefs for Design and Development, anchored in real movement needs: compression, recovery, breathability, comfort, and durability.
- Champion a performance‑first mindset, ensuring every legging delivers a clear functional benefit and reason to believe.
- Use product feedback, returns, fit data, and sell‑through insights to continuously refine franchise direction and future range planning.
Product Creation & Cross‑Functional Enablement
- Lead end‑to‑end product creation for performance leggings, aligning Product, Design, Development, and Go To Market (GTM) on priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
- Ensure consistent fit and feel across seasons and franchises, reducing consumer confusion and return rates.
- Partner closely with GTM, Brand Marketing, Merchandising, and Sales to enable clear storytelling, benefit communication, and launch readiness globally.
Data, KPIs & Operational Excellence
- Own product master data quality and governance for performance leggings, ensuring accuracy across fit, rise, length, fabric, compression, and intended activity.
- Track and interpret KPIs (volume, revenue, margin, sell‑through, returns, fit feedback) to inform strategic decisions and COE guidance.
- Provide insight‑led recommendations into seasonal reviews, performance readouts, and long‑range planning.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a focused team of product marketing experts with deep category and consumer knowledge.
- Foster a COE mindset of clarity, accountability, and collaboration, enabling teams across BUs to execute confidently.
- Influence senior stakeholders across functions to align around a unified performance leggings vision.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Deep expertise in performance leggings, including fit, fabric technologies, compression, construction methods, functional design, and consumer preferences.
- Strong understanding of athlete and consumer performance needs across training, running, and studio disciplines.
- Proven ability to scale a category through franchise clarity, repetition, and consistency.
- Highly analytical with the ability to connect consumer insight, product decisions, and commercial outcomes.
- Strong communicator and influencer in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Strategic thinker with the discipline to drive execution at scale.
- Passion for sport, movement, and performance‑driven product creation.
Qualifications
- University degree in Marketing, Business, Product Management, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Category Management, or Product Strategy, preferably within performance apparel.
- Prior hands‑on experience working specifically on leggings (or close‑to‑body performance bottoms) is a strong advantage, particularly with ownership of fit, fabric, and franchise evolution.
- Proven track record of leading end‑to‑product creation from concept to global launch.
- Experience operating in a COE or global category leadership model is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of global retail, e‑commerce, and omnichannel execution.
- Excellent English communication skills; additional languages a plus.
- High digital fluency with Office 365 and product, data, and GTM tools.
