A fast-growing premium consumer brand is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead its product roadmap and support global expansion.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Product Manager will work directly with the CEO and collaborate with a network of engineers, designers and factories to bring innovative products to life. This is a senior leadership role within the product team, working closely with executive leadership and collaborating with cross-functional partners including engineering, design, and manufacturing.
The successful candidate will drive product strategy, oversee development, and help scale the brand into a globally recognised leader. As Senior Product Manager, you will play a central role in shaping the future of the company’s product portfolio and international expansion. You will have direct influence on high-impact launches and long-term product strategy. This role is for someone who wants to build a world-class product function inside a fast-scaling brand, not just manage projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead the full Product Development Process from concept to mass production, ensuring products launch on time, on cost and at the highest quality standard • Translate product vision into clear PRDs, engineering briefs and structured sprint plans • Lead sprint planning and allocate work across Mechanical, Electrical and Industrial Design partners • Drive feasibility validation, DFM coordination, prototyping, testing and certification pathways • Design products backwards from target gross margin, owning BOM targets, landed cost modelling and cost optimisation • Lead supplier engagement and relationship alongside the CEO • Own product lifecycle performance - defect tracking, return analysis, version updates • Ensure product decisions align with brand, commercial and operational goals
REQUIREMENTS • 6+ years’ experience managing physical product development • Have taken products from concept through to mass production – proven project history is essential • Strong understanding of manufacturing constraints and DFM • Highly structured and systems-driven • Structured, systems-driven; experienced managing remote engineering/design teams • Commercially minded with strong margin awareness • Thrive in fast-moving, founder-led environments • Clear communicator with strong ownership mindset • Build and continuously refine the Company’s Product Playbook, systems and documentation standards • At home in fast-moving, founder-led environments • Must be South Africa-based (Cape Town preferred)
