Role Overview

This Product Manager role supports a government technology platform that hosts and supports 150+ internal and public‑facing applications, including 30+ critical business systems.
The product is not a consumer app — it’s an enterprise hosting and integration platform used by multiple government ministries.

Responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of this platform
• Oversee onboarding of new applications and teams
• Improve governance, intake, and operational processes
• Act as the bridge between business, operations, engineering, and architecture teams

This is a strategic role with strong process, governance, and stakeholder leadership, not a hands‑on developer role.
This is a technically savvy Product Manager, not a technical implementer.
You do not need to code, but you must understand how enterprise platforms are designed and connected.

Core Technical Understanding Required

• How applications are hosted and integrated (shared infrastructure, middleware)
• How APIs, databases, and platform services work together
• How cloud platforms are designed and deployed
• How products are built, updated, maintained, and retired using structured methods (Agile, SDLC)
• How enterprise architecture governance works (approvals, gates, standards)

Product Management – 50%

• Experience in managing end-to-end product lifecycle from requirement gathering to product retirement
• Experience in documenting and presenting product roadmaps, requirements, backlog, functional description and user guides
• Experience working with implementation teams to build and roll out products
• Experience providing support to CRMs and Operations staff

Platform Technologies – 10%

• Knowledge of Web Servers, Application Servers, Tools such as Ansible, Kubernetes/OpenShift Container Platform
• Experience with Application hosting service models, pricing, licences, platform evergreening

Integration Technologies – 10%

• Knowledge of Gateways, APIs and Managed File Transfer systems
• Knowledge of various integration protocols like SOAP, REST, GraphQL etc.

Project Management – 25%

• Experience in developing and managing plans for medium to large projects, including resource management, RAID management and stakeholder management

Public Service Experience – 5%
