American Express

New York · flexible Full-time Senior $123k – $215k/yr 2w ago

About the role

About

The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) product organization plays a central role in powering the American Express network—supporting billions of transactions annually across more than 170 markets. We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead the development and scaling of our Network Tokenization capabilities, a critical component of modern digital payments. Tokenization underpins secure and seamless experiences across digital wallets, virtual cards, Agentic commerce and emerging payment use cases.

This is a high-impact role with end-to-end product ownership, spanning strategy, delivery, and performance. You will work across a complex, global ecosystem—partnering with engineering, commercial teams, and external stakeholders (including issuers, acquirers, and technology partners)—to deliver secure, scalable, and commercially successful solutions.

This role offers a strong opportunity to operate at a global product scale, leveraging American Express’s closed-loop network to deliver differentiated solutions. You will play a key role in shaping the future of digital payments, with direct accountability for product performance, adoption, and customer impact.

Requirements

  • 6+ years’ experience in product management or product development, with ownership of customer-facing or platform-based products
  • Experience within payments, fintech, or financial services, with a solid understanding of the payments ecosystem (e.g. issuers, acquirers, networks, wallets)
  • Demonstrated ability to define product strategies and product roadmaps anchored into business outcomes
  • Strong technical understanding, including experience working with APIs, distributed systems, or payment infrastructure
  • Ability to use data to inform decision-making, prioritization, and product performance improvements
  • Experience working with global or distributed teams, delivering high-quality products at scale
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align across multiple teams
  • Experience engaging with external partners or clients, communicating clearly and professionally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
