This role is part of the Identity Access team, which oversees Sign In, Sign Up, Account Recovery, and Session Management – essentially the first point of interaction for every user across all Coinbase products. This team perfectly embodies our commitment to making access simple, secure, and user-friendly for millions of customers worldwide across various sectors including Retail, Exchange, Prime, Custody, and CDP.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Define and execute the vision and strategy for Sign In and Sign Up experiences across all Coinbase products.
• Drive key performance metrics such as sign in and sign up success rates, alongside time to login.
• Lead the transition to passwordless authentication methods (e.g., passkeys, biometrics) and promote the use of secure authentication techniques.
• Manage session protocols, device identification, and protections against session hijacking.
• Collaborate with the Risk team to refine account recovery procedures and prevent Account Takeover (ATO) incidents.
• Improve the returning user experience and minimize duplicate account creation.
• Balance compliance requirements with user experience considerations to optimize access.

What We Look For:

• At least 7 years of experience in product management.
• Proven expertise in authentication, identity, or security product management.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on defining and monitoring success metrics across complex processes.
• A solid ability to merge security and compliance needs with user-centric design.
• Experience collaborating across multiple product teams while advocating for optimal user experiences.
• Strong technical knowledge to work alongside engineering teams on session management and authentication systems.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and their responsible application in business workflows to enhance efficiency and quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with passwordless solutions (e.g., passkeys, biometrics, WebAuthn).
• Familiarity with bot detection and prevention, as well as ATO strategies.
• Background in crypto or financial technology.
• Experience designing mobile and web authentication processes.
• Understanding of international product nuances related to regional authentication.

Location & Work Policy

This position is office-based, with opportunities for hybrid work combined with full team collaboration during scheduled onsite events.

Compensation

Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual base salary for this role ranges from $207,485 to $244,100 USD, excluding equity and bonus. Candidate applications are limited to a maximum of four within a 30-day period, so please evaluate your fit carefully.
