Senior Product Manager (w/m/d)
KERN engineering careers GmbH
About the role
About
The filter between customer request and code: Turn strong market impulses into smart product features.
The software product has been on the market for over 20 years – it can already do a lot. But consulting sits with customers daily, sales speaks with interested parties, and both constantly bring in what is still missing or what could be better.
The three pillars:
- Governance & Resilience: Business Continuity, proactive failure management
- Compliance: GDPR, AI Act, NIS2 – regulation that doesn't wait
- Risk Management: Audit management, Internal Control System (IKS)
You are the one who is responsible for these topics in the product – and ensure that what consulting and sales bring in finds the right path.
I'm already looking forward to talking in more detail – so apply :)
Responsibilities
- Consultants, Sales and customers constantly bring in topics – sometimes as a formulated problem, sometimes as a half-sentence after a customer conversation
- Problem statements land with you – you assess whether they are ready and decide whether they become a DevOps ticket or whether they are sent back
- You prepare the prioritization – with effort estimation, economic justification, and a clear recommendation: What does a new feature cost? What does it bring? What happens if we don't build it?
- You present this decision to management and defend it to development
- You accept what is finished. You know what requirement is behind it, and check if it has been implemented
Qualifications
- Completed studies, e.g., in Digital Business Management (FH Hagenberg), Innovation Management, Process Management, Law, Business Informatics, or Business Administration with an IT focus (University of Applied Sciences, University)
- You have at least 3 years of experience in a Product Management or Product Owner role, and have done more than just document requirements
- You ideally know scaling companies and their processes
- You can prepare decisions for management and defend them to developers
- Knowledge in one or more of these areas is a real plus:
- Business Continuity Management, Audit Management, IKS, ESG
- GDPR, AI Act, NIS2, DORA, ISO 27001
What to look forward to
- At least 1 day presence in Linz, ideally 2 days (usually Tue & Thu), otherwise feel free to work remotely :)
- And yes: The consulting environment automatically ensures steep learning curves, rapid development, and many new perspectives
- Exciting future topics like AI Act, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Hardly any fluctuation in the team – the role is created because the product and customer requirements are growing
- The office in Linz is really nice; Penthouse style, you have to see it to believe it
- Company outings, coffee, fruit basket, and a "Du" (informal you) culture are a given
Salary
Salary range minimum 4500, maximum 5600 Minimum salary: EUR 4500 gross / month (on a full-time basis) The possible salary: The salary is between EUR 4500 and EUR 5600 gross / month (on a full-time basis), depending on qualifications & professional experience.
