Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic Senior Product Owner who has 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Scrum Team Member, or in another IT‑focused role. The ideal candidate has a solid grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and excels at translating business needs into clear technical specifications (e.g., User Stories, Features, Acceptance Criteria). Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for effectively engaging with teams and stakeholders. We encourage our Associate Product Owners to pursue their Product Owner certification within their first year of employment, fostering your growth in this essential role.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and prioritize features or enhancements that provide value to the product.
- Managing and maintaining a well‑organized product backlog to ensure items are relevant and prioritized appropriately.
- Monitoring the health of your team’s backlog, ensuring it aligns with agreed‑upon standards.
- Working closely with the development team to articulate the business’s needs, guiding them in creating well‑structured backlog items.
- Proactively communicating with stakeholders regarding changes, trade‑offs, and updates to the product roadmap.
- Advocating for the development team by conducting yourself professionally and protecting their focus and time.
- Fostering an inclusive work environment that encourages everyone to participate in creating solutions and collaborating effectively.
- Gathering feedback on completed work items and using this input to refine and maintain the product backlog, negotiating readiness for release.

Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Systems, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a Business Analyst, Scrum Team Member, or similar IT role.
- Deep understanding of Product Development and Software Development Life Cycles.
- Able to translate business needs into clear technical specifications (e.g., User Stories, Features, Acceptance Criteria).
- Comfortable working with backlog management and collaboration tools.
- Experience collaborating on projects with diverse stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a self‑starting approach and resourcefulness in problem‑solving.
- Willingness to obtain Product Owner certification within one year (i.e., CSPO, PSPO).
Preferred Qualifications
- Already possessing or willing to acquire a Product Owner certification within the first year (i.e., CSPO, PSPO).
- Familiarity with UX/UI best practices and experience in integrating user experience considerations into backlog items and feature prioritization.
- This role is open to candidates from across the United States, regardless of location.
Salary
The salary range for this position is $65,800.00 – $135,400.00 per year, reflecting a variety of factors considered in compensation decisions, including skills, experience, training, and organizational needs.
