Senior Product Owner - Financial Software

About the Role

The Senior Product Owner will be responsible for the product vision and backlog for a critical financial analysis used for cost and revenue by role, essential for enabling financial control, profitability analysis, and decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product vision and quarterly roadmap aligned with Finance and IT.
• Analyze and translate business needs into Epics and Product Backlog Items.
• Define acceptance criteria.
• Drive backlog refinement and define sprint goals.
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and management.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings, and stakeholder interviews to clarify and structure requirements.
• Ensure strong traceability between business needs, solution design, and delivered User Stories.
• Manage user acceptance testing and ensure delivered solutions meet business needs.
• Manage approval prior to production release.
• Support solution design in collaboration with architects and development teams.
• Manage dependencies, risks, and cross-team collaboration.
• Ensure business continuity, including incident management and urgent business request handling.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and ongoing digitalization of processes, workflows, and systems.
• Manage stakeholder engagement and drive decision-making between business and IT.
• Build trust and act as a key partner to management.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience as a Product Owner or Senior Business Analyst in complex environments.
• Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Proven track record of delivering financial solutions in complex environments.
• Solid understanding of financial concepts and decision-making (profitability, cost/revenue analysis).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and structuring skills.
• Strong ability to operate in ambiguous environments and bring clarity and structure.
• Proven experience managing senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to extract and challenge business knowledge where documentation is limited.
• Comfortable working in environments with a strong ownership mentality.
• Mastery of English (French is a plus).
• Experience in trading, energy, or financial services is a strong asset.
• Team with a strong ownership and accountability mindset.
