About Us

We’re partnering with a design-led consumer hardware company that develops and ships products across DTC, retail, and global distribution channels. They’re hiring a Senior Product Quality Engineer to own product quality across the full product lifecycle and serve as a key partner to engineering, operations, and global manufacturing teams.

This is a highly cross-functional, hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for how product quality is defined, measured, and improved in-market. You’ll analyze product performance and failure trends, drive root cause investigations, and work directly with overseas manufacturers to resolve issues and implement long-term improvements. This role also owns regulatory compliance across global markets and ensures products meet applicable standards.

Role Details

This is a full-time, permanent position onsite Mon-Thurs in Brooklyn, NY (Dumbo). Fridays you can work from home. If you are not local, we will help with relocation. Salary is up to $175,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own product quality end-to-end, including in-market performance, returns, and failure analysis
  • Analyze product data, customer feedback, and field issues to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering and operations to resolve product issues and improve reliability
  • Work directly with overseas manufacturers and suppliers to drive supplier quality and corrective actions
  • Own and evolve quality systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure
  • Lead supplier quality initiatives, including performance tracking, audits, and issue resolution
  • Drive risk management efforts, including FMEA and related documentation
  • Oversee validation, reliability, and lifecycle testing programs
  • Own regulatory and compliance requirements, ensuring products meet applicable standards (FDA, ISO, etc.)
  • Define how quality data is collected, analyzed, and used to inform product and manufacturing decisions

Must-Have Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7–10+ years of experience across product quality, supplier quality, or quality engineering within consumer hardware or electronics
  • Proven experience owning product quality in-market, including returns, field issues, and failure analysis
  • Strong experience working directly with overseas manufacturers (China/Asia) in high-volume production environments
  • Hands-on experience with injection molded components and manufacturing processes
  • Direct experience with regulatory and compliance requirements (FDA, ISO, UL/CE, etc.)
  • Experience driving supplier quality and corrective actions with contract manufacturers
  • Strong understanding of product development, manufacturing, and quality systems
  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable improvements
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and communicating risk to stakeholders

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with IPX-rated products or moisture ingress protection
  • Experience with motors or electromechanical systems
  • CAD experience (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Experience owning regulatory documentation or submissions
