About the role

Position Summary

  • Provide high-level specialized program expertise and serve as an administrative and financial resource for Center for Advocacy and Political Action programs and projects.
  • Write and edit departmental reports.
  • Process vendors, consultants, and travel transactions.
  • Research and synthesize departmental financial data.
  • Collaborate with teams within Business Financial Services as needed.
  • Support the Center’s daily financial operations focusing on bank reconciliation, cash receipt preparation, accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
  • Assist with Unified Legal Services Program reimbursements, PAC funding, and Government Relations activities.
  • Maintain clear communication across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Center for Advocacy and Political Action Manager for Business Affairs to provide support including developing tracking systems for departmental reports and coordinating department projects.
  • Implement NEA policies and procedures.
  • Process and track contractor and vendor contracts and payments.
  • Prepare departmental spreadsheets and develop and maintain databases.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of progressively responsible financial experience.
  • Experience with database development for financial purposes.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing accounts and expenditures.
  • Experience developing organizational budgets.
  • Experience designing financial presentations.
  • Experience resolving multi-faceted problems concerning financial matters.
  • Ability to work extended hours on evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

  • Samples of work products (e.g., reports, correspondence, spreadsheets, database and presentation materials) may be required at the time of the interview.
  • Some travel required.
