About

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and welfare of a product or family of products in middle to mature stages of the product life cycle, including low-rate initial production, full-rate production, and long-term product viability and profitability. The role includes allocating, deploying, and monitoring resources to complete projects within scope, time, and cost parameters. New product development may be limited to product improvement or line extension. The Program Manager formulates and implements business goals and strategies for Leslie Controls Navy/Maritime products. The Navy team consists of 3 Account Manager Sales reporting directly to the Senior Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and directs implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for assigned product lines.
  • Monitors and directs day-to-day operations to ensure compliance and goal achievement.
  • Develops and monitors program budgets; oversees financial health of product lines.
  • Monitors customer changes affecting program activities; recommends and implements improvements.
  • Represents product lines in meetings and fosters collaborative relationships.
  • Prioritizes and allocates resources; reviews product line requirements and hardware delivery.
  • Performs administrative duties including strategic planning and financial analysis.
  • Supports sales and business development in pursuits and commission evaluations.
  • Negotiates, develops, monitors, and administers contracts and agreements.
  • Develops systems and maintains records for evaluation, control, and documentation.
  • Prepares correspondence, reports, procedures, directives, and other materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple efforts.
  • Solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking.
  • Effective communication across mediums and audiences.
  • Experience managing financial resources.
  • Knowledge of customer and industry-specific requirements across product life cycle.
  • Experience with mechanical valves, steam, and related products.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and other tools.
  • Ability to influence others without line authority.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution, with at least five years’ relevant experience.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive product, project and/or program management experience in Navy/Maritime or related market space.
