Senior Program Manager - Community Development Initiatives

Our client, a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to social upliftment, is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Program Manager to lead their community development initiatives in the Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA region. This vital on-site role involves the strategic planning, implementation, and oversight of diverse community programs focused on education, skills development, and social empowerment. You will be responsible for managing program budgets, coordinating with local stakeholders and community leaders, and ensuring the successful delivery of project objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of community development principles, project management methodologies, and grant management. You will have a proven track record in program leadership, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring & evaluation. Responsibilities include developing program strategies, managing program staff, fostering partnerships with local government and other NGOs, and reporting on program impact to donors and the board. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are essential for building trust and fostering collaboration within diverse community settings. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of community development programs.
• Manage program budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial accountability.
• Oversee project planning, execution, and monitoring & evaluation activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local leaders, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate activities with partner organizations, government agencies, and NGOs.
• Manage and mentor program staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Develop compelling grant proposals and reports for funding agencies.
• Ensure program activities align with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
• Conduct needs assessments and identify opportunities for program expansion.
• Represent the organization at community events and stakeholder meetings.
• Track program progress and report on outcomes and impact.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in program management within the non-profit or community development sector.
• Proven experience in project planning, implementation, and M&E.
• Strong understanding of community development strategies and social impact assessment.
• Experience with grant writing and donor reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
