About the role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Program Manager to oversee critical infrastructure projects within Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, NG . This role demands exceptional leadership, planning, and execution skills to manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from inception through completion. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of delivering large-scale projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, balancing onsite responsibilities with remote collaboration. You will be responsible for defining project scope, securing resources, managing risks, and ensuring successful outcomes for key organizational objectives.
Responsibilities: Develop and manage comprehensive program plans, including scope definition, detailed timelines, budget allocation, and resource management for multiple concurrent infrastructure projects. Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with program goals. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans as needed. Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and regulatory bodies. Oversee the procurement process, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management. Monitor project progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular, detailed status reports to senior leadership. Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and organizational policies throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitate effective communication channels among project teams, stakeholders, and executive management. Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within project management processes and methodologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP certification is highly desirable. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in program and project management, with a significant focus on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects. Demonstrated success in managing complex projects with multiple interdependencies and significant budgets. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in risk management, financial oversight, and resource planning. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote work with on-site project oversight. Experience in public sector projects or large industrial facilities is a plus. Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage effectively under pressure.
