This is a senior individual contributor role at the heart of our finance team. You will work hands-on across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and payroll for 140+ employees -- and serve as a key backup across all three functions. For the right person, this role offers a clear path to grow into an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller.

What You Will Do
Accounts Receivable
- Process progress billings, AIA/Schedule of Values (SOVs), and change orders
- Track retention and follow up on timely collections
- Prepare Preliminary Notices and Lien Waivers to protect the company's interests
- Maintain accurate records and support strong client relationships
Accounts Payable
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Assist with GL reconciliations and weekly check runs
- Support vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies promptly
Payroll
- Assist in processing complex payroll for 140+ employees across multiple pay types
- Ensure compliance with Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll requirements
- Handle pay scales, raises, reimbursements, loans, and bonuses
Financial Reporting & Support
- Assist with WIP reports, job cost reports, and month-end close
- Support GL reconciliation and internal reporting
- Contribute to process improvements and help maintain strong internal controls
Team Coverage
- Serve as a key backup for AR, AP, and Payroll team members
- Cross-train across functions to build a flexible, dependable team
What You Bring
- Experience in construction accounting -- this is the most important technical requirement
- Solid working knowledge of job costing, WIP, AIA billings, and Certified/Prevailing Wage payroll
- Familiarity with construction accounting software (Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar) and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A track record of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent hands-on experience
