Senior Project Engineer – Aerospace Test Equipment (Flight Control Systems | Hybrid – Buffalo, NY)
Lead mission-critical engineering programs that directly impact military aircraft performance and safety.
We are partnering with a leading aerospace and defense innovator to identify a Senior Project Engineer who will drive the delivery of advanced test equipment systems supporting flight control technologies used globally.
This is not a traditional test engineering role. This is a high-visibility, project ownership position where you will lead complex, multi-stakeholder programs from concept through delivery.
What You'll Own
- Lead end-to-end execution of test equipment development projects supporting aerospace systems
- Manage multiple programs simultaneously (1 major + several smaller initiatives)
- Own project schedules, budgets, and resource planning
- Develop technical requirements, SOWs, and RFQs for subcontractors
- Drive vendor selection, performance management, and technical oversight
- Partner with U.S. and international customers to ensure alignment and delivery success
- Lead issue resolution, root cause analysis, and quality assurance activities
What You Bring
- 7–12+ years of experience in:
- Aerospace, defense, automotive, or test equipment engineering environments
- Technical project leadership (not just coordination — true ownership)
- Experience with:
- Test equipment design, validation, or sustainment
- Vendor/subcontractor management
- Managing cost, schedule, and scope (EVMS exposure is a plus)
- Strong technical foundation in:
- Mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering
- Aerospace actuation systems (hydraulic/electromechanical preferred)
- Ability to operate in high-accountability, regulated environments
- Must be eligible for U.S. export-controlled work (U.S. citizenship required)
