The Role

As Senior Project Manager – Sewer & Water, you will own the full project lifecycle for municipal and industrial utility projects, from concept through close‑out. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, serve as the primary client liaison, and ensure every job is delivered safely, on‑time, and on‑budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership – Plan, schedule, budget, and execute sewer & water construction projects; drive daily field operations and coordinate with PMs, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal staff.
  • Technical Oversight – Review engineering drawings, specifications, and municipal/industrial requirements; conduct site surveys, develop scopes of work, and approve change orders.
  • Financial Management – Prepare and manage job cost estimates, procurement plans, material inventories, and subcontract negotiations; monitor cost performance and forecast profitability.
  • Quality & Safety – Enforce safety, environmental, and quality standards; perform regular site inspections, QC checks, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Client Relations – Serve as the main point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Emergency Support – Participate in 24/7 on‑call rotation for emergency response and rapid issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years managing sewer & water projects (municipal or industrial). Experience with plumbing, utilities, and underground infrastructure is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Experience with construction‑management software (e.g., Foundation or similar).
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering documents, and contract specs.
    • Knowledge of trenching, excavation, drilling, confined‑space standards, and backhoe operations.
  • Core Competencies: Strong analytical/problem‑solving abilities, multitasking in fast‑paced environments, excellent communication, proactive ownership, and a solid safety mindset.
