Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager independently oversees multiple, complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with Virginia ABC strategic and/or tactical goals. This role is responsible for managing scope, timeline, and budget while establishing clear, measurable success criteria and meeting customer expectations. The Senior Project Manager applies strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to drive project success and deliver value across the authority.

Areas of Responsibility

• Independently manages multiple, complex projects from initiation through completion.
• Defines project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with organizational goals.
• Develops and maintains detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Monitors project progress, identifies risks and issues, and implements mitigation strategies.
• Ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Facilitates communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Leads project meetings, provides status updates, and communicates progress to leadership.
• Establishes and tracks key performance indicators and success metrics.
• Manages vendor relationships and external partners, as applicable.
• Ensures adherence to project management standards, methodologies, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing complex projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.) and lifecycle management.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Seven or more years of project management experience.
• Three or more years of experience successfully managing or leading technical projects involving software development, IT infrastructure implementations or modifications, or COTS/SaaS implementations.
• Three or more years of experience managing business projects.
