Senior Project Manager, Business Transformation

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead significant business transformation initiatives within their organization, based in **Benoni, Gauteng, ZA**. This role will be pivotal in driving strategic projects from conception through to successful completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio of successfully delivered large-scale projects, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of change management principles.

Responsibilities: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets for complex transformation projects. Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective communication. Manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and escalating critical concerns as appropriate. Monitor project progress against established baselines and provide regular, comprehensive reports to stakeholders. Implement robust change management processes to ensure successful adoption of new systems, processes, and organizational structures. Conduct post-project evaluations, documenting lessons learned and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to project management best practices and organizational standards. Facilitate workshops and meetings with diverse stakeholder groups to gather requirements, gain consensus, and drive decision-making. Manage vendor relationships and third-party contributions to projects. Champion a culture of innovation and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. Mentor junior project managers and team members, fostering their professional development. Qualifications: Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field is highly desirable. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on large-scale business transformation or strategic initiatives. Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to closure. Strong understanding of various project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Excellent leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira). Experience in developing and implementing change management strategies. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile Scrum Master is a strong asset.
