Our client, a leading construction firm known for its high-quality commercial and residential developments, is seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to oversee significant projects in Asaba, Delta, NG. This role demands a seasoned professional with extensive experience in managing all phases of construction projects, from initial planning and procurement through to completion and handover. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership qualities, a deep understanding of construction methodologies, and a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. This position is critical to ensuring project success and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
• Develop and manage project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and delivery objectives.
• Manage project budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-control measures to ensure profitability.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to plans.
• Manage client relationships, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or issues proactively.
• Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as necessary.
• Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee the closeout process, ensuring all project documentation is complete and accurate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial and/or residential construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Experience working in Asaba, Delta, NG or a similar market is advantageous.
• Professional certifications such as PMP are desirable.
