Senior Project Manager, Heavy Construction

Our client, a major player in the construction industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for significant projects located in Minna, Niger, NG . This is an on-site role requiring strong leadership and extensive experience in managing complex construction projects from inception to completion. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management. You will lead and motivate project teams, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will possess a proven ability to manage large construction contracts, negotiate with subcontractors, and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and regulatory bodies. Responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, monitoring progress, and implementing corrective actions as needed. You will be adept at identifying potential project risks and developing proactive mitigation strategies. Financial oversight, including cost control and forecasting, is a critical component of this role. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. Extensive experience in heavy construction, such as infrastructure, industrial facilities, or large commercial buildings, is essential. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD) is expected. Professional certifications such as PMP are a plus.
