Our client, a well-established industrial contractor operating across Canada, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their team in Sherwood Park, Alberta. This role will oversee major industrial construction and maintenance projects across Alberta and Saskatchewan, with a focus on heavy industrial, shutdown, and maintenance environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful execution of industrial construction and maintenance projects from pre-construction through completion.
  • Oversee project operations including budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, subcontractor coordination, and overall project performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks early, and provide proactive solutions to leadership and clients.
  • Prepare and present project cost reports, schedules, forecasts, and performance updates to senior management.
  • Coordinate field operations and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within scope.
  • Mentor and support Project Managers, Coordinators, and junior staff on project delivery best practices.
  • Ensure all projects comply with Health, Safety & Environmental standards and quality requirements.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in heavy industrial construction, turnaround maintenance, and project management environments.
  • 5–10 years of field construction experience within industrial projects.
  • Degree, diploma, trade certification, or equivalent technical training in a related discipline.
  • Strong experience managing industrial projects involving maintenance, shutdowns, and brownfield construction scopes.
  • Proven background in budgeting, scheduling, project controls, forecasting, risk management, and contract administration.
  • Experience leading client-facing communications and managing long-term stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with industrial HS&E regulations, quality standards, and project execution best practices.
  • Project Management certification or formal PM training is considered an asset.
