Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and results‑driven Senior Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure projects in Jos, Plateau, NG. This is a challenging and rewarding role for an individual with extensive experience in managing large‑scale, complex projects from initiation to closure. You will be responsible for strategic planning, resource allocation, stakeholder management, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of major infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, detailed timelines, resource requirements, and budget allocation.
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Effectively manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate and direct the work of project teams, including engineers, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication among all project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and team members.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols throughout project execution.
- Manage vendor and contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports, highlighting progress, risks, and key decisions required.
- Conduct post‑project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement in future projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
- Champion best practices in project management methodologies and processes.
- Manage scope changes effectively, assessing impact and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Resolve conflicts and negotiate effectively to ensure project objectives are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to scope.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile) and best practices.
- Experience in managing multi‑disciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and cost control.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risks, issues, and changes effectively.
- Experience working within the Nigerian infrastructure sector is a significant advantage.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
