About the role
Our client, a leading development firm, is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to oversee significant infrastructure development projects in Zaria, Kaduna, NG . This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for managing project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in managing large-scale construction and infrastructure projects, demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key responsibilities include: Developing comprehensive project plans, defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring cost-effective project delivery. Creating and managing detailed project schedules, identifying critical paths, and mitigating risks to ensure timely completion. Leading and motivating cross-functional project teams, assigning tasks, and providing clear direction and support. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle. Implementing and adhering to rigorous quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards. Proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and issues, developing contingency plans as needed. Conducting regular project review meetings, providing status updates, and presenting comprehensive project reports to senior leadership. Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and contractual obligations. Contributing to the continuous improvement of project management methodologies and best practices within the organization. Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant focus on infrastructure and construction projects. PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in managing projects with budgets exceeding 50 million NGN. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6). Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing on-site supervision with remote coordination.
