About the role
Our client seeks a seasoned Senior Project Manager to oversee complex software development projects from inception to delivery. This role operates on a hybrid model, requiring a blend of remote work flexibility and in-office collaboration. You will be instrumental in defining project scope, developing detailed project plans, managing resources, mitigating risks, and ensuring successful project outcomes within defined timelines and budgets. This position demands exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a proven track record in managing software development lifecycles (SDLC) and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities: Lead and manage multiple software development projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and risk assessment. Facilitate project execution, monitor progress, and implement necessary adjustments to keep projects on track. Manage and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive environment. Identify, analyze, and manage project risks and issues, developing effective mitigation strategies. Communicate project status, key milestones, and potential challenges regularly to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure adherence to Agile or Waterfall methodologies, as appropriate for each project. Oversee the quality assurance process and ensure deliverables meet high standards. Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations when applicable. Conduct post-project evaluations and identify lessons learned for future improvements. Champion best practices in project management and software development. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Master's degree or PMP certification is a strong asset. Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years specifically focused on software development projects. Demonstrated success in delivering complex, large-scale software projects on time and within budget. In-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall). Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project). Experience managing distributed or hybrid teams. Ability to work effectively in both remote and office environments. Strong understanding of technical concepts related to software development.
