Senior Project Manager

Hays

Baltimore · On-site Full-time Senior Yesterday

About the role

About Us

You’ll be joining a well-established historic building restoration contractor with a strong reputation across the Mid‑Atlantic. The firm is recognized for its ability to self‑perform complex restoration work across wood, masonry, and architectural finishes, setting it apart in the regional construction market.

Working across commercial, institutional, government, ecclesiastical, and select residential projects, the company operates as a prime, general, and specialty contractor, maintaining full control of quality, schedule, and craftsmanship. With a deep bench of in-house tradespeople and shop fabrication capabilities, this organization is known for problem-solving, attention to detail, and restoring historic structures to the highest standards.

Your New Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of restoration and renovation projects primarily throughout the DC and Baltimore metro area, often working on high-profile buildings and in collaboration with leading general contractors in the region.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who has grown up through the trades and understands construction at a granular level. Because the company self-performs the majority of its work, you will be deeply involved in planning means and methods, sequencing, labor strategy, budgeting, and resolving field challenges, rather than relying on subcontractors to solve problems for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading projects from pre-construction through closeout
  • Managing schedules, budgets, and labor planning for self-performed work
  • Coordinating closely with superintendents, trades, and internal fabrication teams
  • Troubleshooting construction and restoration challenges in the field
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and historic integrity
  • Building strong relationships with ownership, design teams, and partners

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • 10+ years experience in commercial construction, ideally with exposure to masonry, plaster, finishes, carpentry, or restoration work
  • A background that includes hands-on trade experience or field leadership
  • The ability to solve problems independently
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills for complex, self-performed scopes
  • A proactive, accountable work ethic and a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Comfort managing multiple stakeholders while maintaining quality and schedule

What You'll Get in Return

  • Salary up to $140,000, depending on experience
  • Healthcare coverage with approximately 71% paid by the company
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Two weeks of PTO, plus paid holidays
  • Annual bonus tied to company and individual performance
  • Ongoing investment in training, certifications, and career development
  • The opportunity to work on meaningful, high-quality projects with a company that values craftsmanship, loyalty, and long-term growth
