GHD seeks a visionary and accomplished Senior Project Manager - Transportation Infrastructure to support and grow our Highways, Roads, Bridges practice throughout the US. We are looking for a dynamic leader with a proven track record in project delivery, business development, and client relationship management.
Position based in any of our California offices (Irvine, Long Beach, Los Angeles, San Diego, Fresno, Concord, Santa Rosa, Roseville, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, Redding, or Eureka) or Phoenix, Arizona, with opportunities for hybrid and flexible work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of transportation projects, ensuring excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities with public and private sector clients.
- Develop winning proposals and presentations.
- Build a robust pipeline of work through strategic networking.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, fostering long-term partnerships and exceptional service.
- Inspire multidisciplinary project teams while cultivating a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Support staff development through coaching and training.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and financial performance.
- Proactively manage risks.
- Ensure compliance with Caltrans, AASHTO, and local agency standards while promoting quality assurance throughout all project phases.
- Lead the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices to enhance project outcomes.
- Implement strategies to successfully manage project changes and risks.
- Contribute to regional business planning and the development of long-term growth strategies.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; a master's degree is preferred.
Experience
- 12+ years of transportation project management experience, including highways, roadway, and active transportation projects.
- Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California is required.
- Successful business development and client management experience.
- Experience managing projects for Caltrans and local agencies.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project) and advanced project management practices.
- In-depth knowledge of Caltrans and AASHTO standards, including PS&E package development.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organization skills.
- Experience with alternative delivery methods (e.g., Design-Build) is desirable.
- Construction phase and program management experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage multi-office or multidisciplinary teams is preferred.
- Prior consulting experience and managing multiple concurrent projects is advantageous.

Salary
Salary Range: $138,000-$207,000 based on experience.
