Your Role
As a senior project manager for real estate sustainability, you will manage multiple sustainability projects in different phases. In total, this concerns approximately 60 buildings, with the aim of improving their energy consumption before 2030. Examples include monuments, multifunctional accommodations, and neighborhood buildings; from sports and educational buildings to cultural buildings.
You can handle administrative sensitivity and social pressure well. And you keep an overview, so that projects run according to schedule. You ensure grip on the process - from initiative to realization. You work with contractors, users, property managers, and various stakeholders. SRO is responsible for the technical management, maintenance, and for some of our buildings, the operation. This is - besides your tenants - one of the most important external partners with whom you collaborate.
Responsibilities
Examples of your work and responsibilities:
- You manage a project team of 5 to 7 professionals and ensure structure and clarity within this team;
- You organize and monitor the entire process of the various projects: from program of requirements and tendering to design, execution, and handover to the management team;
- You manage progress, decision-making, risks, and results according to the GROTICK method;
- You participate in ongoing tendering processes and represent Gemeente Amersfoort towards contractors in a construction team setting;
- You assess plans of approach for feasibility, quality, and executability;
- You ensure clear coordination with the board, the management, and internal stakeholders.
About the Team
You will work within the Programs and Projects department, from the Real Estate Development team. Within this team, you will work with approximately 30 colleagues on various subjects. Each from their own expertise and field: from real estate and financial management to land acquisition and - disposal, land development, and related legal matters. The atmosphere among colleagues is informal and friendly, yet professional. You enjoy contributing to the development of social real estate in the field of sustainability in Amersfoort in a pleasant, collegial atmosphere.

What You Bring
You know how to realize complex projects from start to finish, effortlessly translating the organization's vision into concrete project goals in clear language. You maintain an overview and have a grip on planning, finances, risks, and decision-making. You are strong in communication, making you a solid discussion partner for the board, management, and external stakeholders.
Furthermore, you bring:
- At least 10 years of experience in managing construction or real estate projects in a municipal context.
- Demonstrable experience with the full development and realization process.
- Extensive experience with tendering and collaboration with contractors.
