Senior QA & Testing Engineer

As a Senior QA & Testing Engineer you ensure quality across front-to-back test activities for a payment platform powering cloud-based microservices in a global bank. You will translate business needs into test plans, drive automation, and collaborate with developers and analysts to resolve defects. The role sits in the Channel and Market Integration squad, contributing to large digital transformation programs and continuous delivery practices. You’ll work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment that values learning, excellence, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into functional specs for testing
• Collaborate with developers and analysts to prioritize and implement test cases for automation
• Design and develop automation scripts for backend testing across Kafka, IBM MQ, and API endpoints
• Execute automated tests, analyze results, and drive defect resolution
• Support end-to-end testing lifecycle from requirement analysis to production rollout and L3 support
• Maintain up-to-date testing practices and tools to improve quality
• Assist Application Owner and L3 team with troubleshooting and bug resolution

Qualifications

• Proven QA testing experience (system, system integration, E2E, API, regression)
• Experience in test strategy, planning and approach
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and processes
• Experience aligning tests with bank standards
• Experience with automated testing tools (Cucumber, Postman)
• Programming experience (Java, Groovy)
• Experience with log analysis tools (Splunk, Fabric)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (TeamCity, Jenkins)
• Knowledge of Kafka/MQ and microservice architecture is a plus
