The Geospatial Analyst Solutions Directorate, part of our National Solutions Business Area, is searching for a proactive Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Maru program, a pivotal initiative aimed at modernizing geospatial processing and exploitation mission software.

We are interested in candidates who possess strong manual testing skills to enhance our quality assurance protocols for web applications, APIs, and microservices within an agile development environment. This role concentrates on executing manual test cases, identifying defects, validating system functionalities, and ensuring software meets both functional and performance specifications before its release.

The ideal candidate will have a substantial background in software testing, analysis of requirements, and defect management. This individual will collaborate closely with developers, DevSecOps engineers, product owners, and various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality and reliable software solutions.

Clearance Level Required: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Test Planning & Execution: Develop, document, and implement manual test plans, cases, and scripts based on system requirements and user stories.
  • Functional Testing: Conduct functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
  • API Validation: Validate RESTful APIs using the appropriate tools.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, track, and validate defects.
  • Requirements Analysis: Analyze system requirements and user stories to ensure comprehensive test coverage and identify edge cases.
  • Test Documentation: Maintain traceability matrices, test artifacts, and documentation in line with program standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, reproduce issues, and validate fixes.

Qualifications

  • US citizenship is required per contract.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 8-12 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance and manual testing.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing manual test cases.
  • Experience with testing web applications and RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools and test management systems.
  • Working knowledge of RESTful services, HTTP, JSON, and web application workflows.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related release processes.
  • Knowledge of security or compliance-focused testing methodologies.
