Introduction
We're hiring! Safran Electronics and Defense is looking for a dynamic engineer to join our team based in Canelands, Verulam.
Duties & Responsibilities • The monitoring and control of Internal and External product Quality. • Ensure <1% Internal and External defect level is maintained. • Design, development and implementation of quality standards for all products. • To ensure the customer receives a product which meets the quality standard. • To ensure the correct application of the business and Customer Quality requirements. • Measurement system analysis on new projects. Effectiveness and efficiency monitoring in series production. • The reporting of Root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action of non-conformance. • Internal product and system auditing. • The motivation of peers in the implementation of “Good Quality Practice” • To analyse customer/warranty returns, record findings and raise appropriate documentation to ensure the close out of customer requirements. • Verification and qualification of product and process approval in project planning and prior to despatch to customers. • Development and acceptance of processes and products against prescribed standards. • Preparation and compilation of Control plans, Quality Work instructions, Part inspection standards, Sample data sheets, receiving inspection instructions. • To participate in Process/Product audits and report on non-conformance. • Assist with measurement system analysis during project planning and its effective implementation in production. • Assist with the training and assessment of production personnel against prescribed work standards. • Prevention of internal external failures through audits and corrective/preventive action • Ensure the delivery of defect free products to customers internal/external • The control and safe keeping of records of analysis and information used for analysis. • Participating in Process/Product & Dock audits. • Communication to supervisor on non-conforming products, processes and materials. • Control and reporting of non-conformance/System failures/Corrective action reports. • Liaise with Supervisor on product Quality / Audit issues. • Total quality planning documentation preparation on new projects. • Assist with the management of all aspects of development and procurement of Quality equipment, including checking fixtures, in order to qualify components. • Develop, support new/less experienced staff. • Internal liaison with regard to Quality issues on existing and new projects. • Technical support to production and Quality control. • Evaluating and processing product changes. • Development of component inspection plans and visual aids. • Maintaining compliance with the regulations and stipulations of ISO 9001. • Identification and auditing of project documentation requirements as specified by the customer. • Ensure that all quality targets, throughout the manufacturing process are in accordance with the customer requirements. • Controlled document record retention and retrieval. • Continuous improvement planning, implementation and monitoring. • Notify necessity to stop machine or processes which are producing non- conforming products • Assist with the co-ordination of Acceptance / rejection decision
Desired Experience & Qualification • Degree or Btech in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering is required. • Minimum of 5 years working experience within the manufacturing industry is required. • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, 5 WHY and 8D is required. • Microsoft Office proficiency is required.
